The depth of the student experience at ASU depends on gifts to the annual fund. These crucial, unrestricted dollars provide the financial means to respond to our most pressing needs and expand our commitments to excellence in education. These gifts directly support teaching, research and scholarship opportunities for students. Each year, alumni, parents and friends of ASU are asked to support the school, college or unit of their choice with a gift to the annual fund.
You may make an annual gift at any time via cash, check, credit card or wire transfer. We can also establish a pledge for you, so you can commit to paying your gift over time. Today, state funding covers only about 33 percent of the cost of educating an ASU student, which includes hiring talented faculty, enhancing academic programs, providing student services, equipping top-quality labs and more. ASU must continually seek support from many private sources to bridge the funding gap, making gifts received from alumni, parents and friends so impactful in the lives of our students.
Annual gifts made to ASU are generally tax-deductible. However, the ASU Foundation advises you to consult a tax professional regarding the deductibility of your contribution. After making a contribution to ASU, you will receive a gift receipt in the mail that includes a breakdown of your donation for tax purposes. You will receive a gift receipt for every designated gift you make and should use these receipts when preparing your tax returns.
The Tell-a-Devil Network is a fundraising program in the Office of Annual Giving at ASU. Tell-a-Devil Network student representatives raise money for scholarships, investment funds for each of the 21 units across ASU’s four campuses, the university’s endowment, student programs and much more. Additionally, the students inform ASU alumni, parents and friends about events, successes and volunteer options. Everyone benefits from the relationships built by Tell-a-Devil student representatives. Alumni, parents and friends take advantage of opportunities to advance the university and everyone celebrates their individual contribution to ASU’s success.
You can give to as many areas of ASU as you wish through the ASU Foundation. To review a list of campus areas and programs you can support, please visit our investing in ASU web page.
