what is annual giving?

Annual gifts to Arizona State University offer alumni and friends an opportunity to directly impact ASU students, the community and the region by providing consistent and valuable funding to the college, school or unit of their choice. These areas, in turn, use the gifts for programs such as those listed below. There are many ways to give to ASU

why we need your support

ASU Students on Palm WalkAnnual gifts are vital, unrestricted dollars that support a wide variety of programs that enrich a student’s education and prepare them for success in the 21st century global economy.

Many university programs cannot be sustained solely by tuition and government funding. Private support, at all levels, is essential to the university’s ability to provide educational experiences, research, programs and services that change lives and better the world.

A sampling of programs supported last year by the generosity of people like you includes:

  • Engaging students in K-12 outreach activities for science, technology, engineering and math education.
  • International and national study-abroad programs, such as Great American Cities, allowing students a unique educational experience and exposure to national and international relations and customs.
  • Lectures from national and international experts, career fairs and networking opportunities with working professionals.
  • Tutoring and academic support through the Student Success Center and the Freshman Year Experience program that assists students with course content, problem-solving and study skills.
  • Hiring teacher’s assistants for every undergraduate lab course in engineering, bringing the ratio of students to assistants to 15:1 (the national average is 30:1), and making students more attractive to corporations for their hands-on experience.
  • A bi-weekly online resource, Knowledge@W. P. Carey, offering the latest business insights, information and research from a variety of sources to students and the general public.
  • Dissertation fellowships that enable graduate students to complete their degree and build a workforce that enhances our local and global competitiveness.
  • More than 250 academic programs and majors that allow an exceptional educational experience inspired by vision, scholarship, and creativity.
